The National Innovation Alliance for the Huangjing Industry was established with the approval of the National Forestry and Grassland Administration, relying on Zhejiang Agricultural and Forestry University. It is voluntarily composed of 99 relevant institutions, including key research units, colleges, and enterprises that are actively engaged in technological progress in the Huangjing industry, as well as research, development, production, and service related to development strategies, technologies, and products. In accordance with the alliance's purpose of "gathering industry strength, co-creating common technologies, leading industry development, and serving as a good advisor to the government" and the "Action Plan for Promoting the Transfer and Transformation of Scientific and Technological Achievements" by the National Forestry Administration, this report on the development of the Huangjing industry in 2024 is specially released to help more people understand, cultivate, and utilize Huangjing.

LY/T 2762—2024 "Huangjing" standardizes the technical requirements for the entire production process of Huangjing, including the cultivation environment, germplasm and seeds, seedling propagation, planting management, pest and disease control, as well as harvesting, storage, and transportation of the roots, flowers, tender shoots, and leaves. It is applicable to the standardized production of Huangjing roots, flowers, tender shoots, etc.

"Mountains are not high; they are famous if there are immortals." Since historical records began, Laoshan has been known as the famous "Fairy Mountain on the Sea." Within this "fairyland," there are not only majestic and beautiful peaks and strange rocks, but also countless herbs hidden among the diverse clouds and mist. It was also a place where ancient alchemists secluded themselves for cultivation. The climate in the mountainous area is mild and humid, with rich plant resources. As the highest mountain along China's coastline, its unique geological features, climate, minerals, and water sources have nurtured over 1,000 species of medicinal plants, earning it the title of "natural pharmacy." The book "Laoshan Materia Medica" records a total of 87 families and over 290 species of medicinal plants from Laoshan, along with more than 400 types of traditional Chinese medicinal materials.

Huangjing refers to the dried rhizomes of the plants Discorea opposita, Huangjing, or multiple-flowered Huangjing, which belong to the lily family. Depending on their shape, they are commonly known as "large Huangjing," "chicken head Huangjing," and "ginger-shaped Huangjing."

Recently, the sixth "China Wings" Entrepreneurship and Innovation Competition Jiangxi Provincial Selection Contest concluded in Yichun. Among the many participating projects, the "Regular Consumption of Huangjing for Health and Youth" project from Zixi County, Fuzhou City emerged as a dark horse, winning the first prize in the Silver Economy track of the special competition and successfully advancing to the national competition!
